Governor Vacancies

Dear Parents/Carer,

To support Mr Parkin’s leadership of Fishburn Primary School, we are actively looking for new community Governors to join our team.

Community Governors

Community Governors work alongside the school leadership team to set targets, formulate school policy and plan for future development. Governors do not manage the day to day running a school, but offer support and challenge to school leaders to ensure schools operates as efficiently and effectively as possible.

As a parent, you are able to offer a unique perspective in to what our school is like for parents and their children and we value this input incredibly.

What does the role involve?

The Governing Body is made up of Parent Governors, Staff Governors and Co-opted Governors who are expected to:

• Attend three meetings a term.
• Visit the school formally for monitoring purposes, at least once a term.
• Attend training to support you in this work (where applicable)

In return, our Governing Body commits to:

• Provide you with a structured induction
• Provide access to quality training
• Provide informal feedback on your contribution to the Governing Body on an annual basis
